Modified sections of our non-passenger plates page about handicapped person and medical doctor plates to provide more information about multi-year baseplates issued since 1974.

Effectively eliminated our Public Service Types page by moving the three types remaining thereon, livery, rental car, and sightseeing bus, onto dedicated pages; modified the pages about livery and rental car plates to provide more information about multi-year baseplates issued since 1974.

Added to the D.C. Government Motorcycle section of our Government-Owned types page an image of a plate with an embossed registration number, a style not previously seen, from a photograph by Elvert Barnes brought to our attention by Bradley Gallagher; replaced our existing image of the new style D.C. Water and Sewer Authority plate with a better quality image of another example of the new plate provided by Johnny Miles.

Modified our page about taxi plates to provide more information about and images of multi-year baseplates issued since 1974; made minor edits to information added to our page about bus plates on Jan. 15.

Added to our non-passenger plates page a discussion of when distinctive plates may have first been made available to medical doctors, or at least when auto plates of the MD series may have been set aside for assignment exclusively to physicians.

Edited and reorganized the top portion of our 2000 Baseplate page, including modification of our table of estimates of general-issue registration numbers assigned annually during its period of issuance; on our page about government-owned vehicle plates, added information about the introduction of the 1952-55 baseplate to the section about D.C. Government plates, and made minor changes on the same subject to the D.C. Government Motorcycle and Fire Dept. plates sections.

Added near the top of our page about National Cherry Blossom Festival special event plates information about the authorization and use of 1962 (first year of issue) and 1966 plates of this type.

Added near the top of our page about Shrine Convention special event plates information about the manufacture and use of 1958 plates of this type.
